Please fix this as soon as possible, nobody likes and enjoys the web when it is slow and sluggish.ġ.37.109 Chromium: 1. I am not the only person experiencing this, down below I will share other people's reports: It mostly impacts websites like YouTube, Twitch and Discord. I tried the performance tests of the devtools many many times to be sure global test gave the same approximately results.Īfter updating to ( … ) from () everything feels slower and less reliable. Vivaldi : their default ads+trackers blocking. (did a 3rd try letting Shield activated BUT authorizing ads and with ublock, got good results) This ad blocker allows whitelisting acceptable ads. Plus, it got rid of YouTube ads without issues. It still managed to score 94/100 points on the AdBlock Tester. It passed all tests with flying colors except for two services that measure errors on sites. Both with hardware acceleration activated. Total Adblock has a powerful extension for the Microsoft Edge browser. And one without Shield BUT with ublock origin + privacy badger. One with Shield with no extensions activated. With a VPN active for all the tests fyi.īrave : I tried with 2 settings. I have 32GB of RAM and good overall config and enough storage and same internet connection blablabla. I tried to load the exact same page on different browsers, Brave, Chrome and Vivaldi. It’s very annoying so today I finally tried to understand. Pictures were getting very slow to render/load and sometimes didn’t even load (though it’s okay since a week or two). Since a few weeks, I noticed having a lot of troubles browsing on Amazon website. Activating Brave Shield with ads on agressive (https, intersite cookies blocked, standard fingerprint protection, are accessory as it doesn’t change the rendering time so much)Įxpected result: At least same performances as other browsers or extensions.īrave Version( check About Brave): Latest: Version 1.37.111 Chromium: 1.79.Also, right click takes 1 second to load) There is a lot of discussion going on there still though, so you might want to stay posted.Description of the issue: Rendering time X2 to X3 slower than other browsers on, for example here, some Amazon webpage article. Be aware that Firefox is starting to roll out their own version of DoH in North America that ignores the DNS setting from your router and uses cloudflares DoH, which would mean that ad blocking wouldn‘t work in Firefox. Using google DNS as DoH or DoTLS host will give you tamper proof and private (from your ISP, not google) DNS, but not ad blocking. DoH is much easier to setup, you only need to switch the method in the screenshot you provided and put in the hostname given on the AdGuard site. If you need tamper proof and private DNS queries then you need to use DoTLS or DoH. If you don‘t live in North America or other evil places that allow or force internet providers to inject ads, sell your DNS history, or try to censor specific pages then you can get away with just using normal DNS (without DNS privacy). Compatibility I kindly request that you refrain from reporting them directly to the respective browser or adblock solution providers. To ensure a smooth experience, please check the compatibility list before running the test. The family filter probably blocks pages the company doesn‘t deem child safe, which given that it is an US.-American company will probably mean a lot of sex stuff and way too little brutal stuff. Test Ad Block - Toolz Test may not function as expected on some browser-adblock combinations. When you’re done here, please head back to the article and leave any comments or questions you might have. There’s an advert below If you’ve got working ad-blocker, you should see an angry message from me instead. There are variants with and without „family filter“. This is a tester for the code on How to block Adblock. AdGuard provides the ip address for normal DNS as well as the hostnames required for DNS-over-TLS and DoH on their setup page ( under DNS privacy and DNS tabs). For example if your computer asks the server for the ip address for the fictitios „“ the answer will be NXDOMAIN which means there is no server with that hostname.ĪdGuard actually provides a lot of different servers: normal DNS, DNS-over-TLS and DNS-over-HTTPS. Just to make sure you understand how AdGuard ad blocking works: AdGuard, a private company, provides a DNS server that is modified to that it pretends that ad servers don‘t exist.
